Summary
Malik transmits from Abu al-Zinad, from al-A'raj, from Abu Hurayra (may God be pleased with him), that the Messenger of God ﷺ said: by Him in whose hand my soul is, the breath of the mouth of the fasting person is better in God's sight than the scent of musk; he leaves his desire, food and drink for My sake; fasting is for Me and I reward it; every good deed is rewarded tenfold up to seven hundredfold, except fasting, which is for Me and I reward it. The editor notes that Abu Musab (854) and al-Baghawi, Ismail ibn Abi Uways in al-Bukhari (1904), Suwayd, and al-Qa'nabi in al-Bukhari also transmitted it. 1
