Summary
A report that Malik transmits from Ibn Shihab from Ubayd Allah ibn Abdullah ibn Utba ibn Mas'ud from Abdullah ibn Abbas (may God be pleased with him): the Messenger of God ﷺ passed by a dead sheep which he had given to a client of Maymuna, the Prophet's wife. He said: why did you not benefit from its hide? They said: Messenger of God, it is dead. He said: only its eating is forbidden. The editor notes Ibn Abd al-Barr's view that the connected form is the sound one. 1
