In Ibn Hajar's Taqrib

Ibn Hajar lists him in al-Taqrib under no. 1841: "Dhakwan, Abu Salih al-Samman al-Zayyat, of Medina: firmly trustworthy (thiqa thabt); he used to bring oil to Kufa; of the third (generation); he died in 101 AH." 3

In Kashif al-Dhahabi and Marasil Abi Zur'a

Ibn Hajar cites Kashif al-Dhahabi: he attended the Dar (the Prophet ﷺ's gatherings), narrated from Aisha and Abu Hurayra, and was narrated from by his sons Abd Allah, Suhayl and Salih and by al-A'mash among the trustworthy imams — al-A'mash alone carried a thousand hadiths from him — and he died in Medina. 3 In Marasil Abi Zur'a he did not meet Abu Dharr, and he narrates from Abu Bakr, Ali and Abu al-Darda' as mursal reports. 3
