«نبدأ بما بدأ الله به، فبدأ بالصفا»
A verbatim excerpt of the text, forty words at most; the full text is in the edition cited under sources
Summary
The first hadith in the chapter on beginning with al-Safa in running. Malik transmits from Jafar ibn Muhammad ibn Ali, from his father, from Jabir ibn Abdullah (may God be pleased with him), who said: I heard the Messenger of God ﷺ as he left the mosque heading for al-Safa say: we begin with what God began with, and he began with al-Safa. The editor notes that Abu Musab (1311) transmitted it from Malik, and that it is in the lengthy hadith of Jabir on the pilgrimage transmitted by Muslim and others. 1
