Summary
A saying transmitted by Yahya: I heard Malik say: I have not heard anyone of knowledge and jurisprudence, or anyone who is looked up to, forbid fasting on Friday; fasting it is good, and I saw some people of knowledge fasting it, and I think he would seek it out. The editor notes that the hadith in the two Sahihs (al-Bukhari 3/54, Muslim 3/154) from Abu Hurayra (may God be pleased with him) raised says: none of you should fast on Friday except a day before it or after it; and that in copies M, S and H the Book of Fasting ends at this chapter, followed by the chapter on the Night of Decree and then the Book of Seclusion. 1
