Summary
The first hadith in the comprehensive chapter on fasting. Malik transmits from Abu al-Nadr, client of Umar ibn Ubaydallah, from Abu Salama ibn Abd al-Rahman, from Aisha, wife of the Prophet ﷺ, that she said: the Messenger of God would fast until we said he would not break it, and break it until we said he would not fast; and I never saw the Messenger of God complete the fasting of a month except Ramadan, and I never saw him fasting more in any month than in Shaban. The editor notes that Abu Musab (852), al-Tirmidhi in al-Shama'il (307) and Ibn Hibban transmitted it, and that al-Bukhari and Muslim transmitted something similar by other routes. 1
