Chain of transmission
- Malik ibn Anas
- Abu Suhayl ibn Malik
Summary
Malik transmits from his uncle Abu Suhayl ibn Malik, from his father, that he heard Uthman ibn Affan (may God be pleased with him) preach: do not burden a slave-girl with earning, if she has no craft, for if you burden her with that, need will drive her to earn money with her body. Do not burden a young child with earning, for if he finds no work he will steal. Forgive, since God has forgiven you, and eat of the good food that is lawful. 1
