Summary
Yahya transmits from Malik, from Said ibn Ishaq ibn Kab ibn Ujra, from his aunt Zaynab bint Kab ibn Ujra, that Furayah bint Malik ibn Sinan, sister of Abu Said al-Khudri (may God be pleased with him), came to the Messenger asking to return to her family in Banu Khudra, because her husband had gone to pursue runaway slaves, and the men caught up with them on the way and killed him. He told her: stay in your house until the prescribed term is fulfilled. She observed there four months and ten days. When Uthman ibn Affan (may God be pleased with him) was caliph, he sent for her and asked her, and she told him; he followed her report and ruled accordingly. The editor notes that most narrators say Sad ibn Ishaq, which is the better known. 1
