Summary
Malik transmits from Ibn Shihab, from Urwa ibn al-Zubayr, from Aisha, Mother of the Believers, that when the Messenger of God ﷺ died, the wives of the Prophet sent Uthman ibn Affan (may God be pleased with him) to Abu Bakr al-Siddiq (may God be pleased with him) to ask for their inheritance from the Messenger of God. Aisha said to them: did not the Messenger of God say: we do not leave inheritance; what we leave is charity? The editor notes Ibn Abd al-Barr's view that Malik's report from Aisha is from the Prophet, and that Ishaq al-Farawi's report from Abu Bakr al-Siddiq from the Prophet is not preserved from Malik. 1
