Summary
Yahya said: Malik said, from Ibn Shihab, from Urwa ibn al-Zubayr, from Aisha, wife of the Prophet ﷺ, that she said: Utba ibn Abi Waqqas had enjoined his brother Saad ibn Abi Waqqas: the son of the slave-girl of Zamaa is mine, so take him into your custody. She said: in the year of the Conquest, Saad took him and said: he is my nephew, and he had enjoined me about him. Abd ibn Zamaa stood up and said: he is my brother, and the son of my father's slave-girl, born on his bed. They rushed together to the Messenger. Saad said: Messenger of God, he is my nephew, and he enjoined me about him. Abd ibn Zamaa said: he is my brother, and the son of my father's slave-girl, born on his bed. The Messenger said: he is yours, Abd ibn Zamaa. Then he said: the child belongs to the bed, and the adulterer gets the stone. Then he said to Sawda bint Zamaa: veil yourself from him, because he saw his resemblance to Utba ibn Abi Waqqas. She said he never saw her until he met God. 1
