Summary
Yahya said Malik said, from Ibn Shihab, from Salim ibn Abdallah, from his father, that Umar ibn al-Khattab (may God be pleased with him) said: why do men have intercourse with their slave-girls and then withdraw from them? No slave-girl comes to me whose master acknowledges he has been with her, except that I attach her child to him. Either withdraw after this, or leave it. 1
