Summary
Malik transmits from Nafi, from Safiyya bint Abi Ubayd, that she told him that Umar ibn al-Khattab (may God be pleased with him) said: why do men have intercourse with their slave-girls and then leave them to go out? No slave-girl comes to me whose master acknowledges he has been with her, except that I attach her child to him. Either send them away after this, or keep them. 1
