Summary
Yahya transmits from Malik, from Nafi, from Abdullah ibn Umar, that Umar ibn al-Khattab (may God be pleased with him) said: whoever sells a slave who has property, the property belongs to the seller, unless the buyer stipulates it. The editor notes that al-Bukhari and Muslim transmitted from Salim, from his father, the report about the palm and the slave in raised form; al-Daraqutni preferred Nafi's version, which stops at Umar; and Ibn Hajar saw the story of the slave from Nafi, from Ibn Umar, from Umar, as stopping there. 1
