Summary
Malik transmits from Nafi, from Abdullah ibn Umar, that Umar ibn al-Khattab (may God be pleased with him) said: do not sell gold for gold except equal for equal, with no excess between them; do not sell silver for silver except equal for equal, with no excess between them. Do not sell silver for gold where one is absent and the other present. If he asks you to wait until he enters his house, do not wait for him, for I fear riba for you; riba is rama. 1
