A verbatim excerpt of the text, forty words at most; the full text is in the edition cited under sources

Summary

The first report in the chapter on zakat on buried treasure. Malik transmits from Ibn Shihab, from Said ibn al-Musayyab and from Abu Salama ibn Abd al-Rahman, both from Abu Hurayra (may God be pleased with him), that the Prophet ﷺ said: one-fifth is due on buried treasure. The editor notes that Abu Musab, Ibn Hibban, al-Bughawi, Ishaq al-Tabba in Muslim, Khalid ibn Makhlad in Ibn Khuzayma, Ibn Wahb in al-Tahawi and al-Daraqutni, al-Tinisi in al-Bukhari, Qutayba in al-Nasai, al-Shaybani, and Yahya ibn Bukayr in Abu Ubayd transmitted it, citing al-Tirmidhi and the report earlier in this book. 1
