«ما صدقت بموت رسول الله حتى سمعت وقع الكرازين»
A verbatim excerpt of the text, forty words at most; the full text is in the edition cited under sources
Summary
A report from Malik that it reached him that Umm Salama, wife of the Prophet ﷺ, used to say: I did not believe in the death of the Prophet until I heard the sound of the kerazin, the axes with which his grave was dug. The editor notes that Abu Musab and Suwayd transmitted it from Malik, and that Ibn Abd al-Barr (al-Tamhid 24/401) does not know it connected from Umm Salama, and the known report is from Aisha. 1
