Summary
Malik transmits from Ibn Shihab, from Ubayd Allah ibn Abdallah ibn Utba ibn Masud, from his father, that Umar ibn al-Khattab (may God be pleased with him) was asked about a woman and her daughter held in ownership, and whether one may be had after the other. Umar said he did not like to inform both, and forbade it. 1
