«إذا كان أحدكم يصلي فلا يدع أحداً يمر بين يديه، وليدرأه ما استطاع، فإن أبى فليقاتله، فإنما هو شيطان»
A verbatim excerpt of the text, forty words at most; the full text is in the edition cited under sources
Summary
The first hadith in the chapter on the strictness against passing in front of one who prays. Yahya transmits from Malik from Zayd ibn Aslam from Abd al-Rahman ibn Abi Sa'id al-Khudri from his father: the Prophet ﷺ ordered the one praying not to let anyone pass before him and to push him back as far as he can, and if he refuses, to fight him, for he is a devil. The editor cites Muslim, Abu Dawud, al-Nasa'i, Ibn Hibban, al-Darimi, Ahmad and Ibn al-Jarud from Malik's transmitters, and refers to al-Tamhid. 1 2
