Summary
A report transmitted by Yahya from Malik, in the chapter on wiping the head and the ears: Jabir ibn Abdullah (may God be pleased with him) al-Ansari was asked about wiping over the turban, and he said no, until the hair is wiped with water. The editor cites al-Tirmidhi's report from Abu Ubayda ibn Muhammad ibn Ammar ibn Yasir (may God be pleased with him), who asked Jabir about wiping over the socks and he said it is the sunna, nephew; and about wiping over the turban, and he said touch the hair with water. 1
