Summary
Malik transmits from Jafar ibn Muhammad, from his father, that Ali ibn Abi Talib (may God be pleased with him) used to pronounce the talbiya on the pilgrimage, until the sun passed the zenith on the day of Arafat, then he stopped the talbiya. Yahya said: Malik said: this is the matter the people of knowledge in our city have never ceased to follow. The editor notes that Abu Musab (1090) and Suwayd (502) transmitted it from Malik. 1
