Chain of transmission
Summary
The first hadith in the chapter forbidding continuous fasting. Malik transmits from Nafi, from Abdullah ibn Umar, that the Messenger of God ﷺ forbade continuous fasting. They said: Messenger of God, you yourself fast continuously? He said: I am not like you; I am fed and given drink. The editor notes that Abu Musab and Ishaq al-Tabba' transmitted it in Ahmad; Suwayd, al-Qa'nabi in Abu Dawud (2360), al-Tinnisi in al-Bukhari (1962), Yahya ibn Yahya al-Nisaburi in Muslim transmitted it too; and refers to al-Tamhid (14/361). 1
