Summary
Yahya transmits from Malik, from Yahya ibn Said, who said: I heard al-Qasim ibn Muhammad say: Umar ibn al-Khattab (may God be pleased with him) had an Ansari woman, who bore him Asim ibn Umar, then he separated from her. Umar came to Quba, and found his son Asim playing in the courtyard of the mosque, and took his arm and put him in front of him on the mount. The boy's grandmother caught up with him and fought him for the child, until they both came to Abu Bakr al-Siddiq (may God be pleased with him). Umar said: my son. The woman said: my son. Abu Bakr said: let her be between him and the child. Umar did not argue with him again. Malik said: this is the matter I take in this. 1
