Summary
Malik transmits from Abu al-Zinad, from al-Araj, from Abu Hurayra (may God be pleased with him), that the Prophet ﷺ said that every child is born on the natural disposition, and then his parents make him a Jew or a Christian, just as a camel bears a whole young animal with no limb missing, and you do not perceive any cut ear in it. They said: Messenger of God, what about the one who dies while young? He said: God knows best what they would have done. The editor notes that Abu Musab and al-Qanabi in Abu Dawud transmitted it from Malik, and cites al-Tamhid (18/57). 1
