Summary
Malik transmits from Abd al-Rahman ibn al-Qasim, from his father, that a man of Thaqif gave his wife authority over herself. She said: you are divorce. He was silent. She said it again, and he said: a stone in your mouth. She said it a third time, and he said again: a stone in your mouth. They took the matter to Marwan ibn al-Hakam, who made him swear that he had given her only one, and returned her to him. Abd al-Rahman said al-Qasim ibn Muhammad liked this ruling. Malik said it is the best of what he has heard and the most beloved to him. 1
