Summary
Yahya transmits from Malik, from Rabia ibn Abi Abd al-Rahman, from al-Qasim ibn Muhammad, from Aisha, mother of the believers, that she said Barira's case contained three rulings. One was that she was freed and given the choice about her husband. The Messenger said that the loyalty belongs to the one who frees. The Messenger entered when a cooking pot was boiling with meat, and bread and food from the house were brought to him. He asked whether there was not a pot with meat in it. They said yes, but it was meat given in charity to Barira, and he does not eat charity. He said: it is charity for her, and a gift for us. 1
