Summary
A saying of Malik about the order of the residuary heirs among them, which is the settled matter: the full brother is nearer to the inheritance than the paternal brother; the paternal brother is nearer than the sons of the full brother; the sons of the full brother are nearer than the sons of the paternal brother; the sons of the paternal brother are nearer than the sons of a paternal nephew, and so on, down through the paternal uncles, the paternal cousins and the father's paternal grandfather's line, the paternal cousin is nearer than the father's uncle. 1
