Summary
A saying of Malik: the settled matter among them is that maternal brothers inherit nothing alongside a child or a son's child, male or female, and inherit nothing alongside a father or a paternal grandfather. They inherit in other cases: each one of them gets a fixed sixth, male or female. If there are two, each gets a sixth; if there are more, they share a third equally. This is by the verse about the kalala in Surat al-Nisa'. 1
