Summary
A saying of Malik: the inheritance of paternal brothers alongside the grandfather, when there are no full brothers among them, is like that of full brothers, males like males and females like females. When full brothers and paternal brothers gather, the full brothers oppose the grandfather with their paternal brothers and so keep from him by their number the largest share of inheritance; they do not oppose him with maternal brothers. Paternal brothers get nothing alongside them, unless the full brothers are one woman, who then counts with the grandfather through her paternal brothers, and her share is a half. 1
