Summary
A saying transmitted by Yahya from Malik: the settled matter among them, and what the scholars of their city had always held about the inheritance shares, is that a child inherits from its father or mother when the father or mother dies and leaves a child, male or female. The male gets the share of two females. If there are more than two females, they get two thirds of what is left; if there is one, she gets half. He explains the rule for a son's son, and for children of the loins together with a son's son, and cites the verses of Surat al-Nisa'. 1
