Chain of transmission
Summary
A report that Malik transmits from Zayd ibn Aslam from Ata ibn Yasar: a man of the Ansar from the Banu Haritha was herding a milch camel of his at Uhud. It died, and he slaughtered it with a shuzhaz, a sharp piece of wood. The Messenger of God was asked about that, and said there is no harm in it, eat it. The editor notes Ibn Abd al-Barr's view that the hadith is a mursal in the Muwatta transmitters, and that its meaning is connected through established channels. 1
