Summary
A report that Malik transmits from Abu al-Zubayr al-Makki from Tawus al-Yamani from Abdullah ibn Abbas (may God be pleased with him): the Prophet ﷺ taught them this supplication as he taught them a surah of the Qur'an: seeking refuge in God from the punishment of Hell, from the punishment of the grave, from the trial of the false Messiah, the Dajjal, and from the trial of life and death. The editor cites Abu Mus'ab, Ibn Hibban and al-Baghawi from him, Ishaq al-Tabba' and Ibn Ulayya and Rawh in Ahmad, al-Qa'nabi in Abu Dawud (1542), Ibn al-Qasim and Qutayba in Muslim (2/94) and al-Nasa'i, and Ma'n in al-Tirmidhi (3494). 1 2
