- Abu Bakr ibn Sulayman ibn Abi Hathma
Summary
A report that Malik transmits from Ibn Shihab from Abu Bakr ibn Sulayman ibn Abi Hathma, in the chapter on the night and dawn prayers: Umar ibn al-Khattab (may God be pleased with him) lost Sulayman ibn Abi Hathma at the dawn prayer, so he went to the market. Sulayman's home lay between the market and the Prophet ﷺ's Mosque. He passed his mother al-Shifa and asked her, and she told him that he had spent the night praying and his eyes had overcome him. Umar said that witnessing the dawn prayer in congregation was more beloved to him than standing a night. The editor notes that Abu Mus'ab and Suwayd transmitted it. 1 2
