Summary
The first report in the chapter on the tashahhud in prayer. Yahya transmits from Malik from Ibn Shihab from Urwa ibn al-Zubayr from Abd al-Rahman ibn Abd al-Qari, that he heard Umar ibn al-Khattab (may God be pleased with him) on the pulpit teach people the tashahhud that begins "all greetings belong to God and so do the blessings and the good"; it includes peace upon the Prophet ﷺ, peace upon the righteous servants of God, and the two testimonies. The editor notes that Abu Mus'ab, Suwayd, Ibn Wahb in al-Tahawi, al-Shafi'i in al-Bayhaqi and Muhammad ibn al-Hasan transmitted it, and holds that this report and the two after it from Ibn Umar and Aisha are to be treated as raised, since no one would say this by opinion or pick out a particular wording without a directive. 1
