Chain of transmission
- Malik ibn Anas
- Muhammad ibn Shihab al-Zuhri
- Tha'laba ibn Abi Malik al-Qurazi
Summary
A report that Malik transmits from Ibn Shihab from Tha'laba ibn Abi Malik al-Qurazi, in the chapter on listening quietly on Friday while the imam preaches: in Umar ibn al-Khattab (may God be pleased with him)'s time people prayed on Friday until Umar came out. When he came out and sat on the pulpit and the callers called, they sat talking. When the callers stopped and Umar stood to preach, they listened quietly and none of them spoke. Ibn Shihab said that the imam's coming out ends the prayer and his speech ends the speech. The editor notes that Abu Mus'ab, Suwayd and Muhammad ibn al-Hasan transmitted it. 1
