Summary
A report that Malik transmits from Muhammad ibn Yusuf from al-Sa'ib ibn Yazid, in the chapter on night prayer in Ramadan: Umar ibn al-Khattab (may God be pleased with him) ordered Ubayy ibn Ka'b and Tamim al-Dari (may God be pleased with him) to lead the people in eleven rak'as. The reader recited the long surahs, so that they leaned on their staves from the length of standing, and they did not leave until near dawn. The editor notes that Abu Mus'ab, Abd al-Razzaq and Yahya ibn Bukayr in al-Bayhaqi transmitted it. 1
