Summary
A report that Malik transmits as a mursal from Ibn Shihab from Salim ibn Abdullah: the Prophet ﷺ told that Bilal calls at night, and allowed eating and drinking until Ibn Umm Maktum calls. Ibn Umm Maktum was blind and did not call until he was told, "You have reached morning, you have reached morning". The editor notes that Abu Mus'ab, Suwayd, Ibn Wahb, al-Shafi'i and Muhammad ibn al-Hasan transmitted it as a mursal, while al-Qa'nabi, Ibn Mahdi, Abd al-Razzaq and others connected it through Salim from his father (al-Bukhari 617, Ibn Hibban 3469). Ibn Abd al-Barr names both those who connected it and those who sent it, and says Ibn Shihab's students transmitted it connected. 1 2
