A verbatim excerpt of the text, forty words at most; the full text is in the edition cited under sources

Chain of transmission

  1. Malik ibn Anas
  2. Abu Hazim ibn Dinar
  3. Sahl ibn Sa'd al-Sa'idi

Summary

A report that Malik transmits from Abu Hazim ibn Dinar from Sahl ibn Sa'd al-Sa'idi, in the chapter on the call to prayer: two hours in which the gates of heaven are opened and a caller's prayer is rarely turned away: at the call to prayer and in the rank for the sake of God. The editor notes that Abu Mus'ab, Ibn Abi Uways in al-Bukhari's Adab al-Mufrad, Suwayd, Abd al-Razzaq, Ma'n and Yahya ibn Bukayr transmitted it, and that Ibn Abd al-Barr says it is stopped at Sahl with all transmitters, and that the stopped version through Malik is in the editor's judgment the preferred one, while Ismail ibn Umar alone among trustworthy transmitters raised it. 1 2
