Summary
A report from Malik that he was told Aisha was asked about a woman's bath from sexual impurity, and she said that she should pour three handfuls of water on her head and work through her hair with her hands. The editor explains a handful as filling both hands with water, and that the hadith of Umm Salama in Muslim and al-Tirmidhi supports it. Abd al-Razzaq reports that Abu Hurayra (may God be pleased with him) asked Aisha about a woman who unbraids her hair when she bathes, and she replied that if she had poured three times over her head, that suffices. 1 2
