«يطهره ما بعده»
A verbatim excerpt of the text, forty words at most; the full text is in the edition cited under sources
Summary
The first hadith in the chapter on what does not require ablution. Yahya transmits from Malik from Muhammad ibn Umara from Muhammad ibn Ibrahim al-Taymi, from a slave-mother of Ibrahim ibn Abd al-Rahman ibn Awf (may God be pleased with him), who asked Umm Salama, the Prophet ﷺ's wife, about the long hem of her garment that she walks with in filthy places. Umm Salama told her the Prophet said that what follows it of clean ground purifies it. The editor says the slave-mother, named Humayda, is unknown, and that al-Dhahabi judged her unknown; the hadith is strengthened by a sound witness from a woman of the Banu Abd al-Ashhal in Ahmad and Abu Dawud. 1
