Overview
Abu Zakariya Yahya ibn Abi Muhammad, grandson of Shaykh Abu Hafs al-Hintati, and founder of the Hafsid state in Ifriqiya. He was an Almohad amir until al-Ma'mun abandoned the call of al-Mahdi, and in 627 AH he withdrew his obedience in Ifriqiya and ruled it alone. He thus renewed the rule of the house of Hafs, which held Tunis for about three centuries. 1
His death
Ibn Khaldun says he died outside Bona on the seventh day before the end of Jumada al-Akhira 647 AH, after twenty-two years in power. He was buried in the mosque of Bona, and then moved to Constantine in 666 AH while the Christians were besieging Tunis. The Gregorian conversion (around August 1249 CE) is derived and not from the source. 1
The museum's data have no second source for these dates, which need an additional source.
