Summary
Malik transmits from Yahya ibn Said from Abu Salih al-Sammam from Abu Hurayra (may God be pleased with him) that the Messenger of God ﷺ said: were it not that I would burden my community, I would love not to stay behind any expedition going out in God's path; but I cannot find what to carry them on, and they cannot find what they could carry on, so they go out, and it burdens them to stay behind after me. I wish I could fight in God's path and be killed, then be given life and be killed, then be given life and be killed. 1
