Chain of transmission
Summary
Malik transmits from Yahya ibn Said, that he heard Abu al-Hubab Said ibn Yasar say: I heard Abu Hurayra (may God be pleased with him) say: I heard the Prophet ﷺ say: I have been commanded a town that will devour the towns; they call it Yathrib, and it is Medina. It expels people as the furnace expels the impurity of iron. The editor notes Ibn Abd al-Barr's view that the correct chain is from Said ibn Yasar, Abu al-Hubab, not from Said ibn al-Musayyab. 1
