Summary

Malik transmits from Yahya ibn Said that Ubada ibn al-Walid ibn Ubada ibn al-Samit (may God be pleased with him) told him, from his father, from his grandfather, that they pledged allegiance to the Messenger of God ﷺ to hear and obey, in ease and hardship, in willingness and reluctance, that they would not dispute the command with its people, and that they would speak or stand for the truth wherever they were. The editor notes that Ibn Abd al-Barr thought this chain the sound one for most of Malik's transmitters, and that al-Qa'nabi transmitted it from Ubada ibn al-Samit without naming the father. 1
