Summary
Yahya said: Malik was asked about one who went out with an offering for himself, garlanded and marked it at Dhu al-Hulayfa, but did not enter ihram himself until he reached al-Juhfa. He said: I do not like that for him; he was not right to do it; one should not garland or mark the offering except at the call to pilgrimage, unless it is a man who does not intend the pilgrimage, who sends it and stays at home. The editor notes that Abu Musab (1099) transmitted it from Malik. 1
