Summary
Malik transmits from Ata al-Khurasani that a sheikh in the market of al-Burum at Kufa told him, from Kab ibn Ujra, that he said: the Messenger of God ﷺ came to me while I was blowing under a pot for my companions, and my head and beard were full of lice; he took my forehead and said: shave this hair, fast three days, or feed six needy people; he knew that he had nothing to sacrifice. The editor notes that Ibn Abd al-Barr thought it far-fetched that the sheikh was Abd al-Rahman ibn Abi Layla. 1
