Summary
Malik says that a slave who is freed while standing at Arafat is not thereby sufficient for the pilgrimage of Islam, unless he had not entered ihram, in which case he enters ihram after being freed, then stands at Arafat before dawn that night; if he does so, it suffices for him. If he did not enter ihram until dawn, he is in the position of one who missed the pilgrimage, and the pilgrimage of Islam is owed by him, which he must make up. 1
