Chain of transmission
- Malik ibn Anas
- Abu al-Zubayr
Summary
Malik transmits from Abu al-Zubayr al-Makki that Abu Muaiz al-Aslami, Abdallah ibn Sufyan, told him that he was sitting with Abdullah ibn Umar when a woman came to ask him for a fatwa. She said: I came wanting to circumambulate the House, and when I was at the mosque gate I shed blood. I returned until that left me, then came back and shed blood three times. Abdullah ibn Umar said: that is a prick from the devil; so bathe, then bind yourself with a cloth, and circumambulate. The editor notes that Abu Musab (1305), Suwayd (549) and others transmitted it from Malik. 1
