Chain of transmission
Summary
Malik transmits from Ibn Shihab that Umar ibn al-Khattab (may God be pleased with him) ordered snakes killed in the sanctuary. The editor notes that Abu Musab (1186), Suwayd (628) and al-Shaybani (429) transmitted it from Malik, and that the printed Muwatta has the error 'Ibn Umar', which is wrong. 1
