Chain of transmission
- Malik ibn Anas
- Muhammad ibn Amr ibn Alqama
Summary
Malik transmits from Muhammad ibn Amr ibn Alqama, from his father, from Bilal ibn al-Harith al-Muzani, that the Messenger of God ﷺ said: a man speaks a word of God's good pleasure, not thinking it would reach what it reached, and God writes for him His pleasure until the day he meets Him; and a man speaks a word of God's displeasure, not thinking it would reach what it reached, and God writes for him His displeasure until the day he meets Him. The editor notes Ibn Abd al-Barr's view that Malik's report is not connected, and that the report 'from his father from his grandfather' is connected and preferred by him, and inclined to by al-Daraqutni. 1
