Summary
Malik transmits from Yazid ibn Khusayfa, that al-Saib ibn Yazid told him he heard Sufyan ibn Abi Zuhayr, a man of the Azd Shanuah and a Companion of the Prophet ﷺ, telling people at the mosque door that the Prophet said: whoever keeps a dog that brings him neither crops nor cattle loses one qirat of his deeds every day. Al-Saib asked him: did you hear this from the Messenger of God? He swore he had heard it. 1
